The Landing

Intell had said that LT-325 was lightly defended and that the landings would be a cake-walk... too bad they were wrong!

The Fleet dropped from warp on schedule and entered orbit on time for the landings just fine. Our hulls glowed incandescent white from the heat of orbital drop re-entry as our Grav MBT's streaked Dirt-side. Our stomachs in our throats for the drop and then in our boots as the grav-fields caught and slowed our descent...

Right on time, A-company, 363rd Panzer Dragoons hit our targeted LZ... all we had to do was set up our perimeter. The job was supposed to be simple, establish a beach-head, secure the LZ and await the rest of the Division... so much for that!

As soon as our hulls settled smooth on the dirt from the drop we started taking heavy artillery fire... then the buggers hit us with Light Orbital Defense Cannon! Blew our infantry support to ash with high energy pulses... all we could do was try and hold our ground to wait for reinforcement...

Ain't invasions a bugger...
